I Was Your Slave, Now You Are Mine

I told the mechanic

my headlight’s fading fast,

I can fix that he said.

I told the doctor

my headlight’s fading fast.

He said,

Golden lads and girls all must

as chimney sweepers come to dust.

You always knew that.

I always knew but I never understood,

Decline and Fall was just a book

I’d never read

nor ever would.
